Terms of Service
Last updated: 17 September 2026
Welcome to Raise Money Kids. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website raisemoneykids.com (the "Site") and the purchase of any products sold through it. By using the Site or placing an order, you agree to these Terms.
1. Who we are
The Site and products are operated by Ex-Books (Pty) Ltd (Registration No. 2022/632930/07), a company registered in South Africa, trading as "Raising Money Smart Kids" ("we", "us", "our").
- Registered address: Arcadia, Pretoria, South Africa
- Contact email: info@ex-books.com
2. Our products
We sell: (a) Train Up A Child — Digital Edition, a downloadable PDF book ("Digital Product"); and (b) Train Up A Child — Paperback, a printed book delivered by post ("Physical Product"). Product descriptions, images and prices are shown on the relevant product page. We describe products accurately, but minor variations (e.g. print colour or paper) may occur.
Educational purpose only.
Our books are parenting and personal-development guides. The financial, career and investment ideas in them are general education, not professional financial, legal, tax or investment advice. Examples are illustrative only. Always do your own research and consult a licensed professional before making financial decisions. Laws, products and providers differ by country.
3. Prices and payment
Prices are shown on each product page. Digital Edition: R249. Paperback: R399 plus R99 shipping (South Africa only) unless stated otherwise. Payments are processed securely by our third-party providers, Paystack (South African Rand card and instant-EFT payments) and Lemon Squeezy (which acts as Merchant of Record for digital sales and handles applicable international sales tax/VAT). We do not store your full card details. For digital sales processed by Lemon Squeezy, that company is the seller of record and its terms and tax handling also apply. We may correct pricing errors and cancel affected orders, refunding you in full where already paid.
4. Orders
Your order is an offer to buy. A contract is formed only once we (or our payment provider) confirm your payment and send an order confirmation. We may decline or cancel an order (e.g. unavailability, non-payment, suspected fraud) and will refund any amount already paid.
5. Digital products — licence and delivery
On successful payment, your download becomes available immediately on the confirmation page (and, where offered, by email). Please download and save your file promptly. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Digital Product for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not resell, share, redistribute, sublicense, upload, or publicly post the file, or reproduce it for others, in whole or in part. All intellectual-property rights remain ours. If you cannot access your download, contact us and we will help.
6. Physical products — shipping and delivery
We currently ship the Paperback within South Africa only; orders to addresses outside South Africa cannot be fulfilled through the Site. We aim to dispatch within a reasonable time and provide delivery information at checkout or by email. Delivery timeframes are estimates, not guarantees. Risk passes to you on delivery. Please give an accurate, complete delivery address — we are not responsible for delays or losses caused by an incorrect address.
7. Returns and refunds
Returns, refunds and your cooling-off rights are dealt with in our Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2008 (CPA) or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, 2002 (ECTA).
8. Intellectual property
All content on the Site and in our products — text, the books, cover art, images, logos and design — is owned by or licensed to Ex-Books (Pty) Ltd and protected by copyright and other laws. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute or create derivative works from it without our written permission, except as allowed by the personal-use licence in clause 5.
9. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Site or products unlawfully, to infringe our or others' rights, to attempt unauthorised access to our systems, or to circumvent any technical or licensing restrictions. We may suspend access where these Terms are breached.
10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The Site and products are provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude implied warranties not required by the CPA. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for outcomes arising from how you apply the educational content. Nothing here excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including your rights under the CPA and ECTA. Where our liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the relevant product.
11. Personal information
We process personal information (name, email, delivery address) to fulfil your order, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). Our separate Privacy Policy explains what we collect and how we use it.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in force is the one published on the Site at the time of your purchase. Continued use after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and you agree to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts.
